About the Carassauga Festival of Cultures

Spread amongst 28 pavilion locations across Mississauga, Carassauga is now acknowledged as the second largest cultural festival in Canada in terms of both ethnic diversity representation and visitors.  In its 37th year, the festival has grown significantly since it first began as a weekend event with just 10 pavilions. The event annually attracts visitors from across the GTA and Ontario.

As guests move from one pavilion to the next, they have the opportunity to experience cultures from around the world, right here in Mississauga. Each pavilion depicts the culture of the country of origin and provides a line-up of entertainment that is offered throughout the three days. Cooking classes and samples of food from each country are showcased, and many pavilions hold a marketplace where visitors can purchase art, products and souvenirs of the respective countries.

As a family event that all ages will enjoy, there is also The Kid Zone with plenty of exciting activities in which children can participate in, including music, storytelling and arts and crafts.

Information for Visitors

Carassauga passports may be purchased in advance for $10, until 6 pm on May 27th. They will also be available at the door of any of the Pavilions for $12 during the festival.

The Carassauga passport entitles a visitor to unlimited entry into all Pavilions during the festival hours. Visitors can also ride free (using the Carassauga passport) on a MiWay or Carassauga shuttle bus during the festival hours as well as travel free between all satellite pavilions, connecting with the Hershey Centre and Square One Transit Terminal.

The opening night ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 27 at 7:30 pm following which Carassauga will be open till midnight.  Saturday, May 28 timings are from 1 pm to midnight and Sunday, May 29 from 1 pm to 7pm.
