Each one of us deserves a well-earned break every once in a while. Far too often, we get caught up in our day to day lives and forget to stop and enjoy life and the miracles of it. We need to learn to schedule a few quick weekend getaways into our year to give ourselves a chance to unwind. If you plan early, you can schedule a great weekend in Oakville, Barrie, Brampton, Markham or Vaughan. Each city in the Greater Toronto Area hosts events worthy of a few days off from the hustle and bustle of life.

Oakville will be hosting the prestigious Canadian Open on July 20 - 26, 2015. It will again be hosted by Glen Abbey Golf Club and sponsored by RBC according to Golf Canada.

The Canadian Open has been hosted by Glen Abbey for 27 years, first hosting the event in 1977. Since the first time the Open was on the Abbey's rolling green, many recognizable names have enjoyed glorified moments at Glenn Abbey. One of the most notable celebrities would be Tiger Woods back in 2000, in his historical moment of becoming the first man to win The Triple Crown.
