We continue to follow the latest advice and recommendations from the Center of Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and work closely with public health officials to assure we are taking all necessary precautions to protect our guests and employees.
In response to COVID-19, we have implemented some changes to our Clean Team Program, which was developed 5 years ago, to avoid cross contamination between different touch points in hotel rooms and from room to room. It ensures a different colour coordinated cloth is used for each area in the room such as: general touch point areas, glass and windows, bathroom sink and bathtub, and toilet. Once used, these cloths are immediately sent to be laundered, and new cloths are used in each room. The program will include such elements as the removal of clutter in guest rooms like pens, paper and flyers; hand-sanitizer stations placed throughout the property; high-touch areas that will receive extra disinfection; new cleaning and occupancy limits for all food and beverage outlets; and social distancing requirements. High Touch Points Areas and Public Spaces
Our hotels are paying particular attention to high touch point areas and public spaces including key cards, public area computers, elevator doors and buttons, door handles, locks and latches, light switches, desk surfaces, telephones, television remote controls, and bathroom fixture handles with the use of a commercial grade, no rinse disinfectant product. We have also heightened sanitizing attention to the common areas, such as the front desk, furniture, and fitness centre equipment.
To help alleviate the risk of COVID-19 transmission through person-to-person contact, we are using floor decals and signage in our lobbies to remind guests to maintain social distancing protocols and will remove or re-arrange furniture to allow more space for distancing. We have added Plexiglas glass partitions at all customer/employee interaction stations. We have also ensured that masks, gloves and any other PPE is readily available to all of our staff at all times. And lastly, we have provided hand sanitizing stations in all high traffic areas and entrances to our hotels and meeting spaces. We thank you while we keep each other safe and healthy!
