Monte Carlo Inns' Response to the Coronavirus

Your health, welfare, and safety are our highest responsibility and extremely important to us when you stay at the Monte Carlo Inns. We continue to follow the latest advice and recommendations from the Center for Disease Control  (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and work closely with public health officials to assure we are taking all necessary precautions to protect our guests and employees. 

In response to COVID-19, we have implemented some changes to our Clean Team Program, which was developed 5 years ago, to avoid cross-contamination between different touchpoints in hotel rooms and from room to room. It ensures a different colour coordinated cloth is used for each area in the room such as general touchpoint areas, glass and windows, bathroom sink and bathtub, and toilet. Once used, these cloths are immediately sent to be laundered, and new cloths are used in each room. The program will include such elements as the removal of clutter in guest rooms like pens, paper, and flyers; hand-sanitizer stations placed throughout the property; high-touch areas that will receive extra disinfection; new cleaning and occupancy limits for all food and beverage outlets; and social distancing requirements.  Until further notice, we will not be entering an occupied guest room for housekeeping service. If you would like additional amenities or linens, please contact reception by dialing 0 and we will arrange delivery to your room. Staff will only enter an occupied guestroom in the case of an extreme emergency.For more information on the program, you can view the details here.

As we continue to follow the recommended government and local public health guidelines to keep our guests and our employees safe, we ask that you please be patient and kind with us as we adjust to these changing guidelines.

Below you will find important information regarding Monte Carlo Inns operations during your stay.

Ontario’s Enhanced COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate and Your Visit

Starting September 22, the Government of Ontario is introducing an enhanced COVID-19 vaccine certificate system where Ontarians will be required to show proof of vaccination to access high-risk indoor settings. This is a two-prong implementation process. Please visit the Government of Ontario website for full details here.

From September 22 – October 21, to enter high-risk establishments proof of immunization is required in the form of:

  • Your COVID-19 vaccine receipts (paper copy or PDF copy on a mobile device)
  • Photo ID

From October 22 onwards, Ontario COVID-19 vaccination certificates are required. The Ontario Government will provide you with a unique QR Code or you can present a printed or digital copy of the certificate, to learn more about the certificate click here.

Read on below to understand where vaccination certificates are and are not required during your visit to a Vintage Hotel property, our restaurants, spas and event facilities.

Hotel Guests

  • Proof of vaccination is not required to stay overnight in the hotel or to enter common areas within the hotel.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required to utilize our outdoor establishments including our patios, gardens or common areas.

Dining Guests

  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter our restaurants and lounges for indoor dining.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required to dine on our patios and terraces.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required to pick up takeout orders from our restaurants (indoors or outdoors).

Meeting and Event Guests

  • Proof of vaccination is required to enter any event room or meeting space, including all boardrooms, conference rooms, and breakout rooms.
  • Proof of vaccination is not required for outdoor ceremonies or events.


  • Unvaccinated people with medical exemptions and children under age 12 will be permitted to enter settings requiring proof of vaccination.
  • A negative COVID-19 test or recent COVID-19 infection will not enable a person to enter the above settings.

Face Coverings

To promote the health and safety of our communities, face coverings are required for guests and associates in all indoor public areas, unless otherwise notified by a doctor or health care professional.

High Touch Points Areas and Public Spaces

Our hotels are paying particular attention to high touch point areas and public spaces including key cards, public area computers, elevator doors and buttons, door handles, locks and latches, light switches, desk surfaces, telephones, television remote controls, and bathroom fixture handles with the use of a commercial grade, no rinse disinfectant product. We have also heightened sanitizing attention to the common areas, such as the front desk, furniture, and fitness centre equipment.

Guest Contact

To help alleviate the risk of COVID-19 transmission through person-to-person contact, we are using floor decals and signage in our lobbies to remind guests to maintain social distancing protocols and will remove or re-arrange furniture to allow more space for distancing. We have added Plexiglas glass partitions at all customer/employee interaction stations. We have also ensured that masks, gloves and any other PPE is readily available to all of our staff at all times. And lastly, we have provided hand sanitizing stations in all high traffic areas and entrances to our hotels and meeting spaces. We thank you while we keep each other safe and healthy!

Safety for our guests and associates has always been a top priority and we have done what we can to upgrade our already vigorous cleaning system. We want our guests to know that we are doing everything we can to welcome them back to a safe & clean hotel environment when they start traveling again. We will continue to update this page with the latest information regarding our efforts in navigating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)  and our changes in service. Until further notice, we will not be entering an occupied guest room for housekeeping service. If you would like additional amenities or linens, please contact reception by dialing 0 and we will arrange delivery to your room. Disposable beverage cups have been provided for your convenience and many in-room items and amenities have been removed for your safety – additional supplies can be delivered by contacting reception. Staff will only enter an occupied guestroom in the case of an extreme emergency.
